Celebrating International Women’s Day

Faces & Faces panel for IWD

International Women’s Day, marked on March 8th annually, is a global day recognizing the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It serves as a call to action for accelerating gender parity and raises awareness about women’s equality. This day reminds us of the active role all of us have in advocating for gender equality and the empowerment of women, celebrating their remarkable contributions to society, and acknowledging the significant obstacles they have overcome and continue to face worldwide.

From the brave suffragettes who fought for women’s right to vote to the modern-day tech innovators and climate change activists, women from all walks of life have been at the forefront of pushing for change. The theme for International Women’s Day can vary each year, focusing on different aspects of women’s rights and achievements. Women worldwide continue to make waves, calling for change and making a substantial impact in their communities and beyond.

This International Women’s Day, let’s commit to recognizing and honoring the incredible strides women have made and consider what we can do to support and uplift all women, ensuring a gender-equal world. Whether through local events, social media campaigns, or personal commitments to gender equality, everyone can play a part in this important day.

As it is custom now for Faces & Faces, every year we organize small events in honor of women’s history month. International Women’s Day( IWD) is important for our company since it is founded by a woman. This year, we had a little panel consisting of 4 women from different ages and cultural background.

From our viewpoint here at Faces & Faces, feminism as evolved so much so, that no one will be able to say what it is in year 2024. What is feminism right now? What does women rights mean to you in 2024? Do you celebrate IWD? Share your thoughts in the comments.
